The news broke a few days ago regarding Rachel Dolezal, 37, who is head of a local chapter of the NAACP and has identified herself as an African-American. This scandal sent a firestorm through social media causing many African-Americans to speak out about her ethnic misrepresentation.
Despite Rachel Dolezal’s until now successful attempt at portraying herself as an African-American woman, her birth certificate, from the state of Montana indicates that she was born to two parents Caucasian parents. The parents of Rachel Dolezal shared the birth certificate and old photos with CNN News.
“We are her birth parents,” Rachel’s father Lawrence Dolezal told CNN News on Friday. “We do not understand why she feels it’s necessary to misrepresent her ethnicity.” “Rachel is clearly white as we are,” Lawrence Dolezal said.
The fact that Rachel Dolezal possibly not being African-American is in question, however what’s more shocking is what she did prior to misrepresenting her ethnicity for an NAACP job. Rachel Dolezal’s adopted brother who is African-American, exposed Rachel alleging that she was once a Ku Klux Klan member.
The adopted brother, now 21, stated that the Dolezals used “physical forms of punishment” and had sent his brother and sister away to foster homes because they didn’t want to live with the Dolezals White Supremacist beliefs. According to the adopted brother, “Rachel was always interested in Black Men, especially when her parents adopted me. She always tried to date them but they only wanted to have sex with her and then dump her. I think that because she was always rejected by Black Men, it caused her to develop hatred for us which lead to her joining the KKK. I found out that she had joined the KKK in the early 2000’s through a close friend of the family.”
Rachel Dolezal has been evading questions from reporters since the claims of her being Caucasian arose. A thorough investigation into the matter is undergoing to investigate Rachel Dolezal’s past. As more develops, we will keep you updated.
