ISRAEL — IDF troops conducting an arrest operation in the city of Jenin, came under fire on Monday night. In the gunfight at least six terrorists were reportedly eliminated.
Multiple Israeli media sources are reporting that a member of the “Yamam”, the police’s elite anti-terror unit, was moderately wounded during the operation. He was evacuated to Rambam hospital for treatment.
Five wounded Palestinians were also transported to a hospital in Jenin in light condition.
Media outlets reported that that the IDF was fired upon at the home of Bassem Saadi, a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist. Saadi reportedly spent time in Israeli jails, but was released in 2011.
