(Mayfield, KY) – KSP received a 911 call on Saturday, 8-29-15 at approximately 11:57 A.M. from the Graves County Jail reporting an unresponsive inmate. Mayfield EMS transported 51 year-old Anthony R. Swatzell to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased by the Graves County Coroner.
The cell in which Swatzell was in at the time of his death was being video recorded. Initial investigation indicates Swatzell died of natural causes, and no foul play is suspected.
An autopsy was completed on Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Louisville, KY and the results are pending.
Detective John Sims continues his investigation. KSP was assisted by Mayfield EMS, and the Graves County Coroner.
