AUGUSTA, GEORGIA (NEWSWATCH33) – A Georgia woman was arrested and charged with battery after allegedly attacking her boyfriend in a drunken rage for refusing to have sex with her.
According to authorities, Tabathia Grooms, a resident of Augusta, Georgia, attacked her boyfriend Carlos Grace after he refused to have sex with her. Reports indicates that Grooms had an earlier dispute with Grace because he refused to have sex with her. According to Grace, his girlfriend came home around 10 p.m. and stated “she f*cked everyone else because he would not f*ck her” and then attacked him as he was resting on the sofa. Grace did not retaliate but instead ran to the bathroom to call the police.
According to reports, Office Clark and Officer Turner responded to the scene to assess the situation. The officers asked the woman for her name however she refused to cooperate, threatening to hit the officers with a baby stroller if they did not get out of her way. When the police attempted to question the woman regarding the incident, Grooms responded, “My mother is bipolar is didn’t take her medicine,” however Grooms refused to give details about the domestic violence call or an explanation as to why her boyfriend suffered marks.
Based on the officer’s observation, Grooms appeared to be under heavy influence of alcohol and shortly after admitted to drinking prior to the incident. As Officer Clark continued to question Grooms, Grooms’ mother, Betty Clark, escaped out the front door to avoid her daughter. Clark stated to the Officer that she was going to check on her dog because he had been barking all night. When the officers questioned Clark, she admitted to her daughter, Grooms, punching her in the eye, which left visible signs of contact.
Grooms was taken into custody with incident for further investigation.
