Tensions were high throughout the night during an anti-government protest against the country’s trash crisis, a Lebanese reporter was attacked on live TV as she covered the nights events.
The correspondent for private Lebanese television channel LBC was seen screaming for help as clashes between riot police and protesters took a turn for the worse and became violent.
Thousands of people took to the streets, calling on the government to step down for mishandling a dispute which left rubbish uncollected in the streets for weeks.
Over 35 people have been injured during the protests as Lebanese police fired tear gas, deployed a water cannon and fired shots in the air.
