CHICAGO (NEWSWATCH33) – President Obama declared Chicago as a “War Zone” after reports received at the White House indicated 82 people were shot and 14 died.
Mayor Rahm Emmanuel has called on the assistance of the United States Government to provide a solution to the growing crime pandemic in the nation’s third largest city. The 82 shootings was one of the worst periods for crime invested city, leaving the streets soaked in blood from the mass random shootings. The unprecedented move by Obama appears to be one step away is one step away from declaring martial law in the nation’s third most populous city.
During 4th of July weekend, 82 people were shot resulting in 14 deaths. Although some reports have indicated the number of murders has fallen drastically since the 1990’s, it seems the violence in Chicago is growing exponentially.
