Suspects Still at Large After Leading Miles Long Pursuit In NY

VALLEY STREAM, New York — On Monday, at 1:04 PM, a NY state trooper from the Lake Success Barracks attempted to stop a black SUV for speeding on the Ocean Parkway near the Wantagh State Parkway.

The vehicle did not stop and continued for miles onto the northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway before exiting at Babylon Turnpike.

The driver then re-entered the Meadowbrook Parkway traveling southbound.

The SUV then exited at Merrick Road and struck a vehicle.

The driver continued fleeing before it came to a sudden stop and struck the pursuing troop car at Lena Avenue and Wallace Street in Freeport.

The trooper took 5 passengers that were inside the vehicle into custody with the help of the New York State Park Police.

The driver and additional passengers inside the vehicle are still at large.

The vehicle was a black Mitsubishi Outlander that was reported stolen out of New York City.
