SEOUL, NORTH KOREA (NEWSWATCH33.COM) – North Korea is facing its worse drought in history. According to reports, North Korea hasn’t experienced a drought this devastating since the 1960’s. With no rain fall, rivers, reservoirs and other natural sources of water are running dry at an exponential rate.
The North Korean government has called upon its citizens to assist with the situation. Women, farmers, and even office workers have been mobilized to direct all water supplies into farmlands to prevent a complete loss of food.
During the 90’s, North Korea experienced food shortages which led to a disastrous famine which resulted in the death of over a million people. The black market took advantage of the situation then and now, providing food supplies the North Korean government is unable to do.
Higher than normal temperatures, and a 70 day stint of no rainfall is has made the situation worse. The drought began in 2014m however due to an unusual temperate spike this past spring, the country has suffered greatly. Food supplies are extremely low and the country has been forced to accept aid from nations such as China and Russia.
According to North Korea Daily, an independently operated media outlet in Japan, they have received reports that Kim Jong Un has blamed the United States for the drought that North Korea is suffering. According to the report, “America has used HAARP, a device that controls weather, on our nation as part of its efforts to crumble the great nation of North Korea. Because we want to be respected as a powerful nation, America has not only sanctioned us, but now is causing a shortage of water in our country. We will prevail through these tough times to prove to the world that North Korea will not fail,” which the report indicates Kim Jong Un has stated to military officials of North Korea.
Conspiracies exist among many as to the U.S. Government having a weather machine. Some believe that this very machine, which has been accused of causing the drought in North Korea, was also responsible for the earthquake in Haiti back in 2010.
